Welcome to the 1st Annual Intra-Operative Imaging Society Meeting

For some 10 years, intra-operative MRI has been a reality. Many of us who have adopted this technology believe passionately in its utility and potential. We seek a framework in which the pros and cons of various technical approaches can be discussed and knowledge shared. To this end, the IOI Society has been formed.

Our first meeting will be held immediately after the PoleStar User's Meeting in February 2008. While the formation of the Society and our first annual meeting have been generously underwritten by Medtronic Navigation, let it be clear the purpose of the Society is not to promote any particular technology used for intraoperative imaging. We look forward to seeing PoleStar users and all other users if iMRI, iCT, iUS and iXR at our meeting in February.

Michael Schulder, MD
Vice-President, IOIS
